We have taken all our aluminium wheel know-how and put it in the high
performing package. EX 1700 SPLINE wheels are based on our famous 36t
RATCHET hubs combining it with a super strong and welded 30 mm wide
aluminium rim. The rim profile is designed to withstand the hardest use
of Enduro racing while still keeping the weight low for long and
demanding uphills. Laced to double butted competition straightpull
spokes, the EX 1700 SPLINE wheels are built to take a beating.

The current DT Swiss wheels are tubeless-ready and come with mounted tubeless rim tape and corresponding valves. For conversion, you will need a tubeless-capable tire (optimal: UST) and tire sealant. You can find both at an official dealer. Our How To video will take you through step-by-step assembly.
If you have previously ridden your bike with a tube or if the tape no longer sticks properly to the rim, we recommend that you replace the rim tape as a precaution.
How to attach the tubeless rim tape:
1. Measure the inside width of the rim.
2. The tubeless rim tape should be approx. 2 mm wider than the rim and can be bought from a specialist store.
3. Apply the tubeless rim tape. Depending on the rim/tire combination, it may be helpful to apply two or three layers of tubeless rim tape to optimally seal the rim bed.

Under "Conversion" you will find the exact details for all conversion options. You will also find helpful How To videos and manuals.
The tire should be pumped in line with the manufacturer's instructions, in order to ensure optimum rolling resistance.
Note: This can vary depending on the tire manufacturer and model. The tire pressure impacts both the ride comfortability and stability of the wheel. See our tire pressure table for an overview of maximum tire pressures depending on tire and rim width.
You can buy all spare parts, conversion kits, and tools from a dealer.

@richie_rude1 emerged as the overall champion showcasing his versatility by using different wheels depending on the tracks: the FR 541 rims, the EX 1700 SPLINE wheels, and a mysterious silver rim.

@richie_rude1 took the Enduro wheel EX 1700 SPLINE to the top step of the podium at this year’s second Big Mountain Enduro, this time in Big Sky, Montana.
A total of 25 minutes of racing over 8 stages with a difference of only 4 seconds between 1st and 2nd place, proves that at this level, there is no room for chance and that consistency is key.
We'd like to hear from you - how is your racing season going?

With four podium spots between Pro Men’s and Pro Women’s classes, the Yeti / FOX Race Team made a great demonstration the first weekend of May in Ironton, MO. A great opportunity to put the EX 1700 SPLINE to work in demanding conditions with rocky and wet tracks.
Congrats! @lauren_bingham_ got 4th in the Pro Women category. In the Pro Men category, @richie_rude1 came in 1st, @shawnneer in 2nd, @warrenkniss in 3rd and @quinnreece in 6th.

Reliable components are not enough to create a reliable wheel - the final step is decisive. The way a wheel is built is what turns quality components into a quality wheel.
Like all wheels developed by DT Swiss, the 1501 SPLINE® ONE and the 1700 SPLINE® are assembled by hand. With the highest precision and the smallest possible tolerance, which until now would never be reached by a conventional wheel building machine, hundreds of wheels are assembled every week in Switzerland, Poland, Asia, and in America – by hand. #whatyouwouldbuild#engineeringperformance
WHAT YOU WOULD BUILD - introducing the all-new 1700 SPLINE.
Some of you may now wonder what happen to the benchmark aluminium wheelset?
Well, we didn’t forget it! We had a close look at the market and checked what people build on their own. The findings are combined in the new 1700 SPLINE. Benchmark alloy rims, bombproof redesigned 350 hubs - upgraded by a 36t SL Ratchet System.
