DEG DF
An anti-pedal kickback system simplified to the max
The new DF technology is an anti-pedal kickback device simplified to the max. The DF technology releases the pedal kickback at the point where it occurs: in the freehub. This prevents unwanted chain pull during compression before it reaches the crank via the chain and negatively affects the rider. This results in improved downhill riding behavior with natural feedback from the trail and bike without the influence of unwanted chain pull.
Specifically available as an upgrade kit, and retrofittable to all Ratchet DEG freehub systems. It is lighter than other solutions, as you simply have to replace the hubs threaded ring and the two ratchets to enjoy three different degrees of freehub movement: 0°, 10° and 20°.
The engagement angle of the Ratchet DEG hub is main-tained, therefore not affecting the frame's kinematic pedal kickback. The 0° setup could be better suited to a Cross Country practice, where freehub engagement speed is key.
The freehub system has 10° of freedom to rotate with certainty before engaging, resulting in reduced pedal kickback. The 10° setup could be better suited to an All Mountain practice, where pedal kickback becomes no-ticeable and can be part of the bike setup.
The freehub system has 20° of freedom to rotate with certainty before engaging, providing the greatest pedal kickback reduction in our system. The 20° setup could be better suited to the Enduro / Downhill practice, where pedal kickback is part of the bike setup.
For ambitious athletes who already love our DF Technology, you can now enjoy even more freedom to build your perfect setup with race kits compatible with Ratchet DEG DF hubs.
Designed for Enduro Racers who need to fine-tune their freedom of movement between stages.
Tailored to ambitious Gravity/Downhill Racers who are ready to conquer rough downhill trails, where a smoother ride is essential.
The Ratchet DF kit is now available as an upgrade for all classic DT Swiss ratchet hubs. However, it excludes the weight-optimised Ratchet EXP and EXP OS systems, in which one of the ratchets is combined with the ring nut.
Due to the higher torques in this specific field of use, the degrees of freehub movement are 0º or 10º.
The technology is available as a hybrid upgrade kit for Ratchet DEG hubs featuring ratchets with 60 teeth.
