The Ratchet DF Upgrade Kit extends Degrees of Freedom technology to Ratchet freehub systems, opening the door to more riders than ever before. For those already riding Ratchet DEG DF hubs, the Ratchet DEG DF Race Kit delivers additional tuning options, allowing you to dial in the perfect level of freedom for your riding style.

DF Technology
Easily adjustable, low maintenance and adding no weight, the DF Technology offers additional degrees of freedom in tuning the riding characteristics of your bike. By allowing the freehub to rotate a specific range before engaging, the influence of the chain on the rear suspension is reduced, allowing the suspension to work freely. The system gives you the freedom to find the right setup for different types of terrain or bikes without using any tools.
Ratchet DF
Introduced with the Ratchet Classic in 1995, ratchet freehub technology has since established itself as a leading freehub system for bicycle hubs. The Ratchet DF kit is now available as an upgrade to tune all classic DT Swiss Ratchet and Ratchet LN hubs. The fact that you can upgrade a hub that is nearly 30 years old with modern technology is a testament to the durability of these hubs.
This expands the use of DF technology to more riders, as it is no longer limited to our high-engagement DEG hubs. However, it does not apply to the weight-optimized Ratchet EXP and EXP OS systems, where one of the ratchets is integrated with the ring nut.
The Ratchet DF kit also offers the freedom to choose between a classic freewheel system with a 0° setup option and a 14° setup option by simply switching the inner and outer positions of the ratchets.
The upgrade kit features a 54-tooth ratchet and is also approved for use on e-bikes.
Race Kits
For ambitious athletes who already love our DF Technology, you can now enjoy even more freedom to tune your perfect setup with race kits compatible with Ratchet DEG DF hubs. The two new race kits provide additional setup options. The 0/40 option is tailored to ambitious gravity/downhill racers who are ready to conquer rough downhill trails, where a smoother ride is essential. In contrast, the 10/30 kit is designed for enduro racers who need to fine-tune their freedom of movement between stages.
