The FR 541 may not be your first rim, but it aspires to be the last. The
new rim shape improves the impact resistance, enabling you to push a
little harder on the trails. It also enhances the pinch flat protection
for a trusty ride on rougher tracks. Build this rim with care and it
will reward you with resistance and lightness for a long-lasting bond.
Material
ALUMINIUM
Pinchflat protection
Tests conducted with a leading tire supplier showed a 17% increase in pinch flat resistance compared to the previous FR 560 rim.
Size options
Ride in full 29", full 27,5" or mullet. The FR 541 is available in both sizes and both sizes are available in 28 or 32 spoke count.
Welded rim
The welding process on aluminum rims is the most resistant joining method of the DT Swiss aluminum portfolio.
PHR system
The PHR system increases the load-bearing surface of the nipples on the rim and reduces localized stresses.
Personalize your ride
The FR 541 comes in black or in a special silver color, as well with three additional stickers.

The current DT Swiss wheels are tubeless-ready and come with mounted tubeless rim tape and corresponding valves. For conversion, you will need a tubeless-capable tire (optimal: UST) and tire sealant. You can find both at an official dealer. Our How To video will take you through step-by-step assembly.
If you have previously ridden your bike with a tube or if the tape no longer sticks properly to the rim, we recommend that you replace the rim tape as a precaution.
How to attach the tubeless rim tape:
1. Measure the inside width of the rim.
2. The tubeless rim tape should be approx. 2 mm wider than the rim and can be bought from a specialist store.
3. Apply the tubeless rim tape. Depending on the rim/tire combination, it may be helpful to apply two or three layers of tubeless rim tape to optimally seal the rim bed.

As wider rims have developed, so have wider tires. However, the different tire and rim widths are not universally compatible. Essentially: The wider the rim, the wider the tires that can be fitted.
«The FR 541 rim is awesome, definitely the strongest rim I have ever ridden on. The past few months I have been riding/racing hard, hitting European downhill trails and the rims haven’t skipped a beat; no dings or dents. Being a heavy rider with not the smoothest style I demand a lot from my wheels and the new FR 541 exceeds expectations. Very excited to race on them.»

«I have been working with DT Swiss components for many years, because I think they are of very good quality and their reliability is one of the best on the market. Since I sell mountain bikes, it often happens that I must replace rims and my choice almost always falls on DT Swiss. When I mounted the wheels with the FR 541, I recognized the usual build quality of the brand and the combination of this rim with DT Swiss spokes and hubs made the assembly quick and easy.»

«It's just pretty astounding they were able to reduce the weight on this rim while increasing the strength... run it over with a truck? Don't want to damage your truck...»

The @bikecomponents team also assembled the FR 541 in their workshop in Germany. Right after, Kevin from the service department went to test them on some jumps and roots: “The new DT Swiss gravity rim FR 541 convinces in terms of reliability: with its new, extremely shock-resistant shape, it ensures that you make it safely over every jump without risking a flat tire.”
Thank you BC!
